TDCJ inmate telephone system
« on: April 29, 2014, 11:39:07 am »
At the end of 2012, TDCJ began to roll out it's official inmate telephone system. Inmates must record their voice before they are able to use the system, and friends and family must register with the official telephone provider in order to be included on the inmate's phone list and to receive calls.

Inmates can have up to 10 individuals on their phone list and these do not have to be the same individuals on the inmate's visit list.

More details on the TDCJ inmate telephone system can be found here: http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/offender_telephone/index.html

NOTE: Inmates are not permitted to make calls to overseas telephone numbers. In practice this includes any telephone number that is not located within the USA.

You cannot obtain a virtual telephone number to use with the TDCJ inmate telephone system. If you are overseas and an inmate calls you, there is a high possibility that the call is being made using an illegally obtained device.
There and back again....
