How long does the intake process last?
« on: May 25, 2016, 02:02:40 pm »
Good afternoon!

How long does it take to process intake?  I have watched others and it ranges 30-60 days.  My son is approaching 60.  He's not hard to get along with or belligerent.

I am just ready yo see him! ???

It depends on a variety of things, but TDCJ aim to have the process completed within 60 days. It's not just the inmate that is assessed; they have to find a suitable ID unit with a suitable cellie based on both of the inmates' circumstances (things like age, weight, height, religious leaning etc are all taken into account, plus crime and length of sentence as well as pervious convictions).
There and back again....
